During Covid 19 restrictions, fashion houses had to find new ways to present their collections and turned largely to virtual methods. After restrictions ended, the fashion industry mostly returned to the traditional, in-person format. While virtual fashion shows are less common now as models return to the runway in person, the fashion industry found that there are many opportunities to be found in tech beyond showing collections.
The holdings conglomerate LVMH, who represents luxury brands such as Louis Vuitton and LOWE, has partnered with Epic Games to bring their Unreal Engine software to customers in the form of a virtual fitting room. Looking back on some of the most inspired virtual fashion shows, such as Pactrick Mcdowell's collaboration with Digital Village, virtual opportunities have the potential to make fashion more accessible to consumers.
