The Spring/Summer '24 menswear shows have been in full swing over the past few weeks. This year, Saint Laurent decided to show their collection through a one-off show in Berlin. Since the Pandemic, the globalization of fashion has seen new heights, dispersing the focus and monopoly of fashion events out from the four main fashion capitals of the world; Paris, London, New York and Milan.

Held at Neue Nationalgalerie, Saint Laurent's highly architectural tailoring was highlighted and reflected by the building's crisp, striking modern design. In the past three years we have seen a rise in designers and brands choosing locations based on their proximity to the designer or suitability to the collection itself. Cities like Tokyo, Copenhagen, Madrid, and Berlin have been growing as secondary fashion capitals, each with a strong following and unique fashion scene.

For decades, fashion has been highly centralized to the fashion capitals of the world, influencing an ideology that to be 'in fashion', you have to go to your nearest fashion capital. With remote work growing in popularity and fashion increasingly entering the digital realm, this ideology has changed. Fashion is what you choose to put on your body, wherever you are. Explore your nearest city with fresh eyes and discover your neighbourhood's unique fashion personality.
